The Intelligent Digital Agents (IDA) unit within the Center of Digital Health & Wellbeing, with researchers Patrizio Bellan, Leonardo Sanna, and Mauro Dragoni, achieved first place in Task 1: Early Symptom Detection in Therapeutic Conversations at MentalRiskES 2026.
The competition focuses on the analysis of therapeutic dialogues between patients and mental health professionals, with the goal of identifying early signs and symptoms of potential mental health disorders from clinical conversations. The winning result was achieved through an innovative approach based on zero-shot multi-agent reasoning, expert decomposition, and decision aggregation, enabling the effective analysis of complex and sensitive information emerging from therapeutic sessions.
The initiative took place within the framework of the IberLEF 2026 conference.
