Scholars at Risk Network

FBK is a member of Scholars at Risk (SAR): the international network of universities and science centers that, for more than 20 years, has been promoting academic freedom and protecting scholars who face serious threats in their countries so that they can escape dangerous conditions and continue their work safely at member institutions.

SAR pursues its goals by establishing temporary protection programs (such as scholarships, employment contracts or other forms of collaboration) to accommodate scholars at risk, promotes the sharing of best practices and collaboration through awareness-raising initiatives on the issue of academic freedom, also in synergy with institutions and organizations operating at the national and local levels.
