Brand new award Centers Digital Health & Wellbeing + Sustainable Energy

The industrial innovation project “MASAI” was selected among the five winners of the PNRR Final Match – Startup Contest, an initiative organized by Borsa della Ricerca and dedicated to startups, spin-offs, and innovation projects developed within the framework of PNRR programs.

The project’s Principal Investigator is Patrizio Bellan, member of the IDA unit of the Digital Health & Wellbeing Center. The team also includes Mauro Dragoni and Leonardo Sanna, both from the IDA unit, together with Ruben Bartali from the Sustainable Energy Center and Edoardo Gino Macchi and Matteo Gandolfo from the BET unit of the same Center.

MASAI

is developing a decision-support software platform for materials R&D, with an initial focus on batteries and energy storage. The platform transforms fragmented technical and scientific knowledge into faster, more reliable, and cost-effective experimental decisions. It enables a reduction in R&D time and costs, with an estimated average saving of around €50,000 per material and a faster go-to-market for new materials. Unlike traditional material simulation models, MASAI also integrates operational recommendations and real-world adoption constraints.
