Abstract
Test your Idea, the Program PoC by FBK., identifies the most innovative ideas of FBK’s research staff, based on individual expertise and any existing achievements, with the goal of transferring them to the market through spin-offs, patents or other forms.
Goals
The Program aims to Increase the maturity level of technology ideas and platforms., through funding, training and coaching paths specific to the enhancement path identified for each idea.
Tools
Each selected Project will be granted funding ranging from 30,000 euros and 80,000 euros, depending on the project submitted. These funds can be used for:
- Costs for the involvement of external suppliers or consultants;
- Costs of purchasing goods and materials;
- Costs related to personnel;
- Any other eligible expenses directly related to the implementation of the funded Project activities.
I training, accompaniment and enhancement plans, customized and also carried out in collaboration with HIT, involve coaches and mentors in training and consolidation of technical, entrepreneurial and soft skills.
The Foundation’s network of companies and partners will be leveraged to amplify opportunities to scale up and follow on of selected projects.
Target audience
The program is aimed at:
- PhD students/students working within the Foundation’s research centers;
- Post-doc staff;
- researchers/researchers and technologists/technologists of the Foundation;
Who can participate individually or in teams.
Application and deadline
Interested parties should apply via form online, to which should be attached a Enhancement Proposal from which should be inferred:
- The idea to be enhanced (problem, solution, market);
- The technology or technologies underlying the idea;
- Alignment with respect to the Foundation’s scientific themes;
- team composition;
- Plan of activities and estimate of related costs.
Projects submitted should have a time horizon of 6 months.
Applications must be submitted by 15/01/2025 11:00 p.m.
Schedule
The Program includes the following main stages:
- November 7 , 2024 announcement opening
- January 15, 2025 deadline for submission of ideas
- February 14, 2025 communication of the ideas selected admitted to the Program
- March 25, 2025 pitch day of selected ideas and selection of the funded projects
- From March 25, 2025 to September 2025 carrying out the funded activities and training plan, working alongside their coaches
- September 25, 2025 public event for the projects presentation
