FBK offers two options for the Research computing.
Physical machines
- managed: they are located in the data center and managed centrally by FBK. They are connected to the DMZ and host web servers.
- self-managed: they are located in the data center, managed by users as administrators, accessible from the internal network, they surf the internet but cannot provide external services.
Virtual machines
The virtual machines are on the Azure cloud platform. Upon request, they can be managed centrally by FBK. As for self-managed virtual machines, the process is more complex, since you will need to request an Azure account.
Computing resources must be agreed with the IT service (help-it@fbk.eu).
