Olga Gorodetskaya has received an Honourable Mention in the context of the SIS 2025 Prize for the best PhD dissertation in Demography “Valeria Solesin”.
The award ceremony took place during the Conference on Statistics for Innovation (https://sis2025.sis-statistica.it/), held in Genoa on June 17, 2025.
The awarded thesis, entitled “Gender Inequality in Italian Academia: A Life-Course Perspective on Careers and Fertility”, was recognised with the following motivation: “The dissertation, by integrating various quantitative methodologies, provides robust empirical evidence on the intertwined dynamics of academic careers and fertility. The findings contribute to the broader debate on gender equality in academia, highlighting the need for a revision of institutional structures that shape professional trajectories and family planning in the academic profession.”
