Summer School “FBK Pioneers in Research”

Dear Colleagues,

The Foundation is pleased to present a new initiative dedicated to young research talents: the Summer School "FBK Pioneers in Research", which will take place from 8 to 12 September 2025 at the Foundation's premises in Povo (Trento).

The school aims to offer master's students in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry an immersive and stimulating educational experience in the heart of innovation.

The 2025 edition, organized in collaboration with the Sensors & Devices Center, will focus on quantum technologies—a rapidly evolving field with broad applications and growing scientific and industrial significance.

The program is designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications, providing participants with a high-level learning experience centered on scientific innovation.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • follow closely all the phases of semiconductor device fabrication, with access to state-of-the-art cleanroom and characterization laboratories, under the guidance of experienced researchers;

  • enjoy a true "quantum experience" through dedicated lectures and hands-on activities on superconductivity and photonics;

  • engage with experts and researchers in a stimulating and highly personalized setting (with a maximum of 15 participants).

Applications are open until 30 June 2025.
To apply, candidates must fill out the online form and upload a CV, a motivation letter, and a short video presentation (maximum 2 minutes).

All information and the application form
are available at:

This initiative marks the first edition of a broader project that will involve other research centers of the Foundation in future editions. The aim is to explore different scientific and technological themes, always through an experiential approach focused on the growth of future researchers.

We would be grateful if you could share this initiative through your channels and with potentially interested contacts. This is important not only for the success of the current edition but also for attracting future talents who may apply for our PhD scholarships or specific calls—thus contributing to the continued growth of our Foundation.

Please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected] for any further information.
Thank you in advance for your collaboration, and best regards.
