Spaces pilot project

Working and living in environments designed for well-being, productivity and socialization is an essential requirement for a company like FBK, which has always focused on innovation and the centrality of people. In a context transformed by the digital transition, agile work and a growing focus on sustainability, the Spaces pilot project was born: a path of listening, experimentation and co-design aimed at rethinking the use of work environments in a dynamic and functional key.

The objective is to create intelligent spaces that respond to real needs such as collaboration, communication, concentration, idea generation and relaxation. The project initially involves some organizational joints in an experimental phase (Amministrazione Service, Appaliti e Contratti Service, People Innovation for Re earch Service and the Prevention of Corruption and Transparency Unit), with the support of Korus, a company specializing in the design of professional environments. Korus will conduct an analysis of the needs and degree of satisfaction of people working in FBK, through tools such as a structured questionnaire on issues such as organizational culture, well-being and use of spaces.

Promoted by the General Secretary's Office and the People Innovation for Research Service, in collaboration with the Comunicazione e Relazioni Esterne, Patrimonio and  Digital Solutions and IT Infrastructure Service, the project is divided into three main areas of intervention and is a concrete step toward a Foundation that is increasingly attentive to the quality of working life and the sustainability of its organizational and environmental choices.

In order to respond to these new needs, a working group was established and a pilot project was launched with three main areas of focus:

1. Space management policies and tools

A workstation booking system has been introduced to collect statistical data and better understand general usage as well as specific needs. This information will be crucial  indefining policies to improve the way spaces are used.

2. Space layout guidelines

Guidelines are being developed that can effectively respond to new ways of using spaces. These references will guide the evolution and management of the Foundation's spaces by opening up to solutions that are more attentive to coworking, creativity and well-being..
